Riga Bro: Radio Warszawa #1

I know, in fact Radio Warschau is a radio station which adds 17,000 songs to the playlist, sets to shuffle, turns the xfader on and presses the play button... ..but this is much like it! Some songs Ive listened to lately, walking through the city, waiting for the metro to come, returning from a soccer play, going to my flatmate's farewell party or walking through a boring Baselitz exhibition. Some of it I finally found after long long internet exploring and got flashed. Or got shown by friends. Or have always wanted everyone to listen to. Be boring and click here or be a champion and imagine you just turned on the radio...Enjoy!!!

Old and small. Interview with Animal Collective from 2004

this is an interview with animal collective from 2004. Taken from the best music site. Brainwashed.com
That's how I got to know their music. Although the quality is very poor, the video is really great.
I thought it'd be interesting to post this right after my MachMach!1 Post (which are recordings from that time), because Animal Collectives approach was for me, although very different from mine, the only one I could relate to in 2004.

Terrified yet bored by the masterful kingdom of legal administration/thinking. Sued by the united presidents of love for not fitting in with the entire list of social codes, here I am. I would sell everything. End the mighty war between the horned and the bearded king, who is to get the whole? I am willing to sell to the one bidding less.

Ryan Trecartin

If you are in New York you can see this video (+the rest of the film) in the New Museum til July 5th. Most of the parts of the exhibition just bores you (especially all painting stuff) but his videos if you havent seen them yet are sooooo coooool. Theres also some cool thing by Tris Vonna Michell and a very bad thing from a very bad art group from Germany (Aids 3d). But if you like to bore yourself by contemplating about art cliches, a nice picture for you:

So after you are bored I give you a song by La Roux / Skream you might have heard about, but which will get you back on your limbs anyway (those of you who prefer the lifestyle of a crawler: I never forget about you! Keep on CRAWLING!!!!)

La Roux - In It For The Kill (Skream Remix)

or try this one:

Pjtr Kaufmann: Ich Bin Woody Woodpecker (Pjtr Kaufmann Rmx)
this song was released on RTN020 "Esoterik 1"

What the New Museum says about Ryan Trecartin: "b.1981 Webster, Texas. His videos conjure alternate realities that are populated by a motley cast of unstable, often ambiguously gendered char-acters, some of which are played by Trecartin himself." I don't know about this. I cant think things like that, but I can think them like this: It was just time that someone did stuff like this. It has all those stupid psychedelic forms and colors and trash spectacle things in it and it shows itself as a show of different lifestyle opportunities all close to crashing (as they all always are, but mostly their protagonists have better ways of blurring the their selfdestruction). then maybe radically accelerating by taking the seemingly most powerful option within their lifestyle and burning it down. The films are didactic plays. Ha ha. Après moi, le déluge! (Louis XV)
In one of the films girls promote themselves as the new super girl group in their bed-sit (go this way if you want to see one of the best films ever: "The Bed-Sitting Room" - 1969/Richard Lester/UK) and over their bed hangs a painting of Can's former singer Damo Suzuki (who quit the band in the 70's for his girlfriend and the jehova's witness=rock band singing is a sin. Smash. Holger Czukay said that after damo's relationship with the girl his relationship with god's only true crew ended as well... sad sad damo, he is touring around still but his singing now=thumbs down. While Holger Czukay's records=thumbs up still.)(Maybe I'm going to translate a cool interview with him I once found, but don't count on me. He says that he has many ways to write music: sometimes he watches movies and does as if he was writing the score, and that what comes out he will rework until it becomes a song).
I watched one of Trecartin's early shorts you will find on his youtube channel. I think it was "commercial 2003" which ends with this new psychedelia screen. the style thats quite famous around lo-fi/nwa/hippystyle bands right now. He did it in 2003... so we can state (for the books) the style goes back to 2003, at least! (if you want to make a game out of it: comment this post and show me that the style is even older by giving me links.)
Oh by the way: he makes shitty sculptures!

Jeti - Horror Jam 1987

http://welltuncares.files.wordpress.com/2007/05/real-yeti.jpg

Jeti is my friend and does Illustrous Experimental Jams. He tries to capture his feelings. This one he did back in 87 after he was once again haunted by some buddhist trying to get hold of his skalp, again!

http://www.sherpatrek.com/weblog/wp-images/media/yeti.jpg

He fled from his home in the green refrigerator. We met in the cinema on Baker Street. We started to talk. We got to know each other. I showed him the possibilities of homerecording. He learned fast and did not hesitate to get to know the newest in technology, became a homerecording genius in no time. He is my friend.
(He says this jam was a milestone for himself. Something he would always remember in writers block times. something to bring him back from stardom n sex n drugs n rock n roll to the little room where his dreams of music once evolved.)

Kania Tieffer - Ma Reum

It is the great music! ASK yourself "WHERE DID THE MUSICIANS GO THAT HAVE FUN MAKING MUSIC???????????" (death stab) here and there: Look at them (DE!NIAL). She did a split with them. They are as grroovvy ass. (TV Fiction & Minus Algorithm)

"Brschna Zschnok" with their new Hit "Psrsch Ta Njescht"

Brschna Zschnok - Psrsch Ta Njescht

This band is in the charts of Germany TV always for years!!!! They are big forepictures of "Die Radierer" a totally laughly band from German suburb that no one really knows. I think they have the potential and the hooks for now. But only if now was 1998!!! HAhahahQHAha! Yes.

Die Radierer - Cowboys

This other video is in Finnish. The lyrics are typical Finnish Lovesong

Foyer des Arts - Komm in den Garten

A very extra ordinary band from with a downtempo and a guitar riff in the middle what is called chorus. sometimes. the chorus was an invention by the airport personell of hannover as a reaction on the messe hannover with glows like thunder in lonely lufthansa night skys.

Nichts - Krieg hat Zukunft

Die Futurologen - Körperwärme

Palais Schaumburg - Telephon

Foyer des Arts - Wissenswertes über Erlangen

Now the most not wanted musicvideo in the WoRDL!

Hans-A-Plast - Monstertanz

Now my favourite band from the USA: BRAUSEPÖTER!!!! (no in this case i like them more than my stupe)

Brausepöter - Bundeswehr

This band makes it elektro music full ways of tomorrow i like:

Front - Polaroid

This band is better than Cyan Kid. Mu-Ha-Ha. In deed i think Cyan Kid wishes to be as cool as them and he would like to play the casio in the beginning as cool as they did. Don't you Mr Cyan Kid?
By the way at this point you might have realized which background wrote christoph schlingensiefs aesthetics back in "mutters maske" and alle the black and white 80s hits he made.

Deutscher Kaiser - Halli Galli tanzt für sie

This one is a video from the times before WW2 when Germany was yet a part of the USA. In it you can already feel the revolutionary pose that lead in the end to world war 2 and Germanys liberation from the USA.

Mannschreck - Snap Jack Fever

Good Albums I found now:
Kosmonautentraum - Juri Gagarin
Kosmonautentraum - Der Deutsche
Die Radierer - Angriff aufs Schlaraffenland
Residenz - Albert Hilsberg ist ein Schwein
Rheingold - Dreiklangs-Dimensionen
Kuschelweich - Live im Studio!
ZK - Leichen pflastern ihren Weg
ZK - Eddie's Salon
Brausepöter - Liebe, Glück, Zufriedenheit
Abwärts - Amok Koma
Thomas Leer - Private Plane
Die Radierer - Tapes von 79/80
Front - Bitte recht freundlich!
Deutscher Kaiser - Halli Galli Tanzmusik

What others say about Oh Ne

A while ago we put up some of our songs on a musicbusiness/musicrating website. The people there get paid for writing reviews. About now 5$ have been earned with Oh Ne! TIME TO PARTY! this with a mix of the best reviews there are.
So here it is:

"...sounds like someone messing about with a keyboard and mumberling over the top, pretty awful no structure melody tune or class."

"The music sounds very bland and ordinary. Sounds more like the music we often hear at the local trains in India doesn’t have melody or rhythm and the lyrics is equally boring and ordinary."

"The lyrics are awful. The vocals make no sense to me. I am not able to understand this artist. The Music is a basic beat that has been used a thousand times before."

"The audience cringes when they hear the awful arrangement which is killing this recording and I wouldn’t believe that a singer could actually sing as inadequate as this, it’s hard to accept and the quality of this record sounds absolutely very bad and it completely destroys the listening pleasure."

"This is poor, it is someone in their bedroom pressing all the keys on their keyboard to see what they do, then he decides to adda few poor vocals, really not great!"

"...the track comes off as a novices attempt to appeal to the innovative market!"

"...too random sounding and abstract."

"You cannot produce 'music' like this and expect people to like it. It's absolutely ridiculous with no merit whatsoever."

"absaloutly shocking. its like you were playing the trumpet by a road. literally. what the heck is this about? theres nothing about this that is even slightly entertaining."

"It grates and it's annoying - it's not music!"

"This track is very very very bad you know That is so disgusting."

"Charming beats and colourful sounds in this electronic number. In fairness it probably could have been made by an 11 year old but even so its alot better than most of the pop songs around."

"The song lacked dynamic modern tones and i felt the song needed more guidance and feeling. emotionally not connected to the song and the song needed to be more upbeat and have more to it."

vampire state midi download remix action

DO IT
your interpretation of the TEAM17 classic "vampire state" (also previously reworked by the band with Django Gonzalez live at Beautyfest, see the video in older post)! We reconstructed the melodies and structure of the original version from the 2004 album as a midi track file. Now you download the file and change it however, BUT follow these rules:

-the first drum track is only for orientation, you're allowed to delete it
-don't delete the other tracks
-don't move or edit the clips
-maybe don't edit the tempo. but i'm not sure about this one. maybe try it

What you need:
Ableton Live

What you do:
-load the project file: link
-rock / pop
-send it to us: look (at) team17.de !

man it's gonna be great!

Django Gonzalez Release-Orgy

Good News: After three years of recording Songs, Snippets and simple Ideas and working on them(more or less), Django Gonzalez is now going to release all that stuff(well, most of it) on Ramin Ton!!!
But he will not come up with one Album (as some people who know him maybe thought), but with two EPs and one Single.
The decision to divide the whole recording-material of those three years into three unique Releases came to him during the last three days, he says.
It is because he realized(after listening to all that stuff again)that there were some kind of heavy connections between several songs and tracks, so it was kind of easy to compile them that way.
The two EPs and the Single will be released one after another in each very short periods.
The Releases are all done, named, all tracks are listed, the covers are made, the work is finished.
Be prepared for 3 completely different releases, which mark a personal era of three years of work, constant doubts, reflections, paranoia, work, revolution, lethargy, experiments, journeys, work, selfhatred and selflove, bla bla bla...

The Releases:

- The Mamachine EP (7-Track EP)
- Annaxo EP (4-Track EP)
- The Chronicles Of Dietiér Zohermes (2-Track Single)

A little Beforetaste(Vorgeschmack)...

Cheers.

BEST BANDS and WHY THAT????? of 2008

This is the ONE AND ONLY post of never ending last year nostalgia: What band was THE band of 2008 and WHY TAHT???. The topic says it all and bores everyone NOT INTO IT to death. Please comment as much and as boring and as stupid as possible(please be REALLY stupid)(and please be as INSULTING as you can! This is the ONE AND ONLY blog filled with an unstoppable love for selfhatred!)(I mean, what to love if not yourself? That would be: YOUR SELFHATRED!!!)(I mean, please kill me now, because the bracket rate is up at 84 and that means I am close to death by selfrelection). And if you aren't stupid. Please do as if you were. PLEASE! (please?)

The BAND:
I want to start as abusive as a moderator can be with the magicaly uncool group of british boredom in sheets "THE WAVE PICTURES". And as abusive as I am I used my rights to bore you even more with a foto of the band (up).
The WHY???:
They obviously like Herman Düne, which, as I heard is considered a crime in 14 of 27 EU-Nations. (I don't know it for the Arabian-League, but someone told me, could be worse). With that information given you might ask yourself, how can this blog guy who writes as if anyone would read or even be interested in this whole post, get the band out of the BAND OF 2008 Minus region up into the BAND OF 2008 Plus region?
I heard them somewhere in early 2008 at a Jeffrey Lewis concert. It was the song "Long Island" (I've found two versions of the song by searching hypemachine, listen to that one that has the worse sound, it has the better feeling) in which he sings "I am the real Slim Shady" that made me fall for them (ahhhhhh, sweet)(yeah thank you...). I think it is the best line in a song 2008 too! YES YES YES. The song is a total masterwork. That's it really. And the band doesn't look in any way as they sound. They sound like Long Island, as if they have never been cool enough for Downtown Manhattan, or such stuff. But coming from the UK. And after their sound, they look like as if they aren't cool enough to be anything, and that is what I DESERVE LIKE CREAM! That's it.
